Perhaps one of the most crucial aspects of a country is its education. Studying in Manila, surrounded by privileged people - people that are as privileged as I am, I realize that there’s still so much to improve.
The main pitfall of our country is the lack of access to quality education and the lack of support from the current administration. Such forms a snowball that may traverse up to our local communities. For example, lack of awareness in terms of calamities and proper garbage segregation could be solved if primarily, education is easily accessible to the mass, and next would be incorporating it to the curriculum.
Unfortunately, most, if not all stems from improper administrative function caused by self-interests. As seen in our current state, more and more people in the community are marginalized, causing less access to education. Further, the budget allocation for education is undermined. I strongly believe that education is the core of one’s country, and unless we do something about the root cause of the lack of its support, it would be challenging to solve.
